All previous videos have been of dead specimens floating around in tanks.
Nobody ever knew until now that they might float around with their mouth inflated like a goofy balloon like this.
It starts to “billow” mid-way through the video because of the deep sea rover’s jet stream and it puts up with that for quite a while before it finally gets too annoyed.
The ribbon eel or Bernis eel, is a species of moray eel.
The presumed juveniles and subadults are jet black with a yellow dorsal fin, in adult males the black is replaced by blue, and adult females are entirely yellow or yellow with some blue to the posterior.
Personally I reject any notion that this wouldn’t be the facial expression of actual dragons
this is the source video and i think an important detail is that after making that face it pauses for a long moment before letting out a bellow/scream that sounds like a pig completely losing its mind in a damp and lightless well
