Long dream under the cut

Dire and I were in this semi-wooded area near a little longhouse with, like, paper shoji windows (There were some little Nidoran-looking critters that lived in it who Didn’t Like Him At All, I guess because he was a monster?) and somehow I suddenly got to make a wish and after thinking about how to phrase what I wanted I used it to make Dire capable of getting big enough to enter space and go to other planets, and I remember explicitly saying that it was so he and I could go planet-hopping together so I also added this thing where he could keep me alive while we were between planets by balling his hands up and keeping little pockets of air in them

So he climbs up to the roof of the longhouse and starts changing, and I was in it at the time and I could hear the roof creaking and shifting under the weight because he was getting bigger really fast and after a few minutes I ran out and climbed up next to him and crawled onto his hand and pretty soon after we got going

I very vividly remember everything getting dark as his hand curled around me, and how warm his palm was

And then he kind of just… Stepped off of Earth and went wandering for a bit until he found a rocky planet that had air and put me down on it, and I explored for a while until I got bored because this planet only had plants on it, all of the animals had gone extinct so it was pretty and safe but also super quiet and empty feeling

So after a while I went back to him and he picked me up and we left and repeated that with a few other planets until I noticed he was turning kind of reddish-purplish around the edges and getting smaller and that was when he told me that when he first changed he learned that he had to pick either methane or hydrogen gas to sustain his body with and he picked methane because he thought hydrogen only gathered in big amounts around gas giants, except then he was getting smaller and weaker because he was running out of methane so then we had to scour each planet we went to for methane until we found some for him to absorb and slowly built him back up

The dream ended kind of shortly after that because he was fixed and
once he was okay

we just left and kept exploring new planets forever
