From the Facebook pages of Project Coyote/Classic Cars USA:
Last week on my way to work in the early morning, a coyote darted in front of my car and I hit it. I heard a crunch and believed I ran over and killed it. Upon stopping at a traffic light by my work, a construction woman notified me that there was in fact a coyote still embedded in my car. When I got out to look, this poor little guy was looking up and blinking at me. I notified Alberta fish and wildlife enforcement right away who came to rescue him. Miraculously, he was freed and had minimal injuries despite having hitched a ride from Airdrie to Calgary at highway speeds! Their biologist checked him over and gave him the good to go. They released him in Kananaskis. Clearly mother nature has other plans for this special little guy!

I’m dying at the fact that he looks only like…mildly perturbed and inconvenienced by this at most.

u ever see a pigeon on public transport and wonder if it knows what the hell it’s doing
I get sad because I wonder if they’ll make it back to their families or their mate. 😦
Don’t be sad, friend! They know exactly what they’re doing. ^v^
Pigeons have the same cognitive capacity as five year old humans, and have been documented taking advantage of our transportation systems to commute back and forth from foraging grounds farther than they could have easily flown, at a much lower energy cost.
They know the times, which trains go where, where all the best food stops are, and which stop is theirs.
And they tend to be model passengers, taking their seats under the big human seats, and politely filing out at their work and home stops. ^v^
pigeon has responsibilities I’m so proud of them
NYC pigeons intentionally use the subway system all the time. Particularly in the above ground lines in the Bronx and near Coney Island. My favorite is when they’re traveling in pairs and wait near the doors, just going a stop or two. Super cute, and clever!
My sister’s boyfriend is from Russia and he just graduated from college so his parents are visiting from Moscow and they speak very little English and I almost lost it today laughing because they absolutely loved my sister’s wiener dog like they were entirely amused by this dog and his dad was just sitting next to the wiener dog, admiring him, and softly saying in the thickest Russian accent “little dog….small dog….little dog”
